Compassionate Psychology and Yoga

Join me at The beautiful Blackfriars Priory in Gloucester to discuss how Buddhist wisdom and neuroscience can make sense of your current self. We will be using a combination of self study exercises, visualisations and yoga practice to cultivate a more compassionate you. It’s an opportunity to spend time working towards freedom from unhelpful internal chatter. The yoga practice will be based around the anahata chakra and will be a lovely flowing sequence aimed at opening your heart and directing energy to the centre of compassion in your energy centre.

Yoga for the Summer Solstice - 108 Sun Salutes

oin Julia and Annet in carrying out 108 sun salutes to honor the sun and the vitality and energy it gives us and in marking this special time of year.

The summer solstice (or estival solstice) occurs when one of the Earth's poles has its maximum tilt toward the Sun. The summer solstice is when the Sun reaches its highest position in the sky and is the day with the longest period of daylight.

Since prehistory, the summer solstice has been seen as a significant time of year in many cultures, and has been marked by festivals and rituals. Today it is seen as the beginning of summer.

Its also international day of yoga on June 21st so while we might be a day or two early lets come together as a community of yogis to show our love of connecting our mind and bodies and finding balance through moving meditation. Its ace!

Note: you do not have to complete all 108 perfectly and you are more than welcome to come and watch, sit and breathe or do part of the 108.

Donation only: for room rent and o to the 'Back up' charity in support of spinal injury research and care.
